Imagination Station

Children love to play. Whether they play with friends, with parents, alone, inside, outside, rain or shine, their energy seems to be endless. November is a beautiful time to live in Central Florida and a great time to get outside!

This month's blog will feature a few parks found in Lakeland, Fl that cater to children and enhance their abilities to learn independently or in partnerships as well as develop their imagination by free play.

Peterson Park

Tucked away behind baseball fields and pine trees, near a water-tracing boardwalk. This park has a variety of equipment to suit different abilities and ages. Public restrooms and water fountains are also located on site. Along with the playground, there is access to a great boardwalk that is definitely worth checking out!

3700 Cleveland Heights Blvd, Lakeland, Fl 33803

Lake Bonny Park

Lake Bonny is awesome for the whole family. This park is a jack-of-all-trades, with walking trails, open fields, 2 playgrounds designed for older and younger kids as well as a skate park open to all ages. Public restrooms and water are located on site.

800 US 98, Lakeland, Fl 33801

Horney Park

Fenced in, shaded, small (only 2 structures), no pavilions or designated parking spots. This is a laid back, hidden gem of a play park!

205 E. Poinsetta, Lakeland, FL 33803

Lake Parker Park

Lake Parker is located right behind Joker Merchant Stadium and feels worlds away from city life. Here you have your choice of biking/hiking trails, soccer fields, picnic pavilions, playground and fishing.

Rotary Park

A brand new playground, added just this summer (July 2017) to Lake Parker Park. This new playground is intended for ages 2-5, with zip lines and a pirate ship to create the ultimate imagination station. Public restrooms are located on site.

910 Granada St. Lakeland, Fl 33801

As always, please practice good stewardship when enjoying these parks and the outdoors. Being respectful to others, throwing away our trash, playing in designated  areas only and staying mindful to our surroundings are all great ways to have fun by staying smart and safe!
